Graduate student positions available at McGill University

UPDATE: THESE POSITIONS HAVE BEEN FILLED

Two to three fully-funded positions will be available in Fall 2023 for prospective M.Sc. and Ph.D. students interested in quantitative ecohydrology research. There is a lot of flexibility in what specific research projects could focus on, from the analysis of long-term timeseries to infer dominant ecohydrological processes to numerical modelling and everything in between, including to the assessment of pre- and post-disturbance conditions (i.e., changes in ecohydrological dynamics following wildfires, insect infestations and other stressors). Please visit the “Focus areas” page under the “RESEARCH” menu for more information about potential research topics. Because Genevieve is cross-appointed in two departments, students have a choice between a graduate degree in Earth and Planetary Sciences and a graduate degree in Geography.

Students interested in starting a M.Sc. or Ph.D. focused on ecohydrology should:

** Make sure that they meet the admission requirements (i.e., minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, or 3.2 out of 4.0 for the last two years of full-time study)

** Contact Genevieve (genevieve.ali@mcgill.ca) as soon as possible to discuss potential research topics in more detail as well as the timing of admission.
